Daniel Kitchens, age 74 years, l month, 7days, died 3:15 a.m. Thursday June 23, at the home of his daughter Mrs. G. A. Neal. Came from Tenn. to Stoddard Co. in early 1850's - moved to Poplar Bluff shortly after the War - was elected Mayor when Poplar Bluff was incorporated. Came to Doniphan 8yrs ago - for a number of years had been a member of the C P Church. Death came sudden and as a shock to the community - paralysis came on as he was walking to Mr. Neal'S business - by the time he was brought home he was almost totally paralyzed - went unconscious and died 3:15 am. Leaves 4 children: George W. Kitchens and Mrs George A. Neal (both from Doniphan), Mrs J. S. Kelley, Poplar Bluff and Will D. Kitchens El Paso, Texas - all grown and married. Had been married 3 times: his last wife died 1882. Lived mainly with Mr & Mrs Geo A. Neal. Funeral from C P Church and burial in New Cemetery." ~ The Prospect News, June 24, 1892

KNUDSON, Susan    1856 - Jun. 6, 1908    "Mrs. Susan Knudson died in St. Louis last Saturday after an operation for cancer. Came here from home in Douglas, Arizona to visit sister Mrs. Ed Ferguson before going to St. Louis for surgery. Body returned here Saturday, funeral from home of Mr. & Mrs. Ed Ferguson 4 p.m. Sunday, Rev. Swain, C P Church officiated. Buried Oak Ridge, a widow for 10 years, she was 52, had no children." ~ Prospect-News, June 11, 1908

KRONENBERG, Golden A. Missick    Jan., 1886 - Jan. 27, 1914    "Killed in California on 27th of January, 1914 was Golden Missick Kronenberg,. She was killed by Albert Boettcher, who in a rage, shot his sweetherart, Mrs. Kronenberg and himself - this happened in Stockton, CA. The two women were in the same room when he fired three shots. Golden was born and raised in Doniphan and was a granddaughter of Reverend and Mrs. V. A. Bell." ~ Published in The Prospect-News, Thursday, 12 Mar 1914.     "Remains of Mrs. Golden A. Kronenberg, who died in Sacramento, California on 27January, was brought to Doniphan by her mother, Mrs. Emma Missick on Friday evening. Burial at Oakridge 2:30 pm Sunday, Rev.
