J. H. Vincent, father of Mrs. W.W. Gary, died at her home on Walnut Street at 1 p.m. Tuesday of chronic diarrhea. He was 79. Funeral 2 p.m. yesterday with Rev. Evans of Methodist Church officiating, assisted by Rev. Wilkinson of Baptist Church. Burial in Oak Ridge cemetery. VINCENT, Susan Jane Young    Feb., 1856 - Jan. 18, 1903    "
Mrs. Susan Jane Vincent died night of Jan. 18, at home of daughter, Mrs. W.W. Gary. She was 47 years old and wife of J.H. Vincent. Had been ill since last June. Mrs. Gary, only daughter, but leaves 2 sons: Gid & Gail Vincent. Native of Tenn., came here 7 years ago. Funeral Monday afternoon, burial at Oakridge." ~ Prospect-News, Jan. 22, 1903
