This book abstracts all obituaries/death notices that appear in the
PROSPECT and the
PROSPECT NEWS, which were the local newspapers published in Doniphan,
Missouri since
June 1874.Not all issues were preserved and not all deaths were
reported to the editor. State wide
registraion of deaths was not required in Missouri until 1910. The
original language of the time
was kept intact; in many instances direct quotes are used. (259 pages +

4. Doniphan and the National Guard, 1940 - 1990.
A compilation of articles and photos about the Doniphan Nation
Guard from 1898 to 1940.
Written for the 50th Anniversary of the call into Federal Service of
Company I, 140th Infantry,
35th Infantry Division, Missouri National Guard. The articles were
written over several years by
the compiler. The booklet was given to members of Company I as a gift.
The money for the
remaining ones goes to the Flower Fund for the Company's Deceased

A former Librarian, she is married to a native of Ripley County (retired LTC, Army) whose families have been in the county since before the Civil War. A local history writer, she is a charter member of the Missouri State Genealogical Association, having served as Library Director for six years. Awarded the Director's Award from the MoSGA for her work on the passage of MO HB 60 which provided for protection of abandoned cemeteries in the State Of Missouri. An active member of the CGC (Council Of Genealogy Columnists) since 1988, she has served on their Board and written columns for their Newsletter. Wrote "Kinnis Kin" a genealogical column for the Ozark Graphic and the Dailey American Republic from 1976 to 1992. Certified as a GGRS from 1972 to 1997. Member of Association Of Professional Genealogists and several national and local societies. Locally serves as Historian for the Doniphan UMC and is a member of the Doniphan/Ripley County Library Board.
