NOTE: Ezekiel died and was buried on his homestead located behind the Tucker store on land owned by Homer Smith in 1977. The cemetery is no longer in use and the contributor would be most grateful for anyone able to supply tombstone pictures. Contributor: Stephen Smith


Caldwell, Henry Edward      Jul. 4, 1895 - Apr. 24, 1939.     Son of Sam P. Caldwell and Margie Cook. Husband of Angy Caldwell.

Mercer, Infant Twins      No dates.     Children of Ambrose D. Mercer & Susan Addieville Smith (daughter and son-in-law of Ezekiel D. and Lucinda Hudson Smith, who are reportedly buried here in unmarked graves.

HUSBAND & WIFE:     Married Mar. 3, 1850 at Gainesboro Jackson Co TN.
Smith, Ezekiel David     Nov. 10, 1826 -
May 26, 1913.     Son of Thomas Smith and Sally ? Barton. Born in White Co TN.
Smith, Lucinda Hudson     May 10, 1834 - Jan. 7, 1892.    
Daughter of Obadiah Hudson, Jr. and Elizabeth Coons. BIO: Ezekiel was a Union Soldier during the Civil War serving in the 1st TN Mtd Infantry. After the war, Ezekiel helped rid the area around Red Boiling Springs, TN of bushwhackers. Ezekiel remained in Red Boiling Springs, TN until about 1868 then moved to Ripley Co., MO along with other family including sisters; Martha Ann Smith (wife of John Pinckney Smith); Mary Susan Smith (wife of James David Rush); niece and nephew, Nancy Caroline Gist and William Bledsoe Gist, daughter and son of deceased sister Delila and her husband Peter Gist. Upon arrival in Ripley Co., Mo the family resided in the cabin of Obadiah C. Hudson (brother-in- law)near Ponder until Ezekiel acquired his own land and built his own homestead. Ezekiel applied and received a federal pension #841-340 from the Bureau of Pensions.

Smith, John Thomas     Nov. 27, 1853 - 1889.     Son of Ezekiel D. Smith & Lucinda Hudson . Husband of 1) Winnie Johnson and 2) Susan Patterson. No marker.
