During Reconstruction Days he was Circuit Clerk for several years. From
1882-1887 was Presiding Judge, County Court.
"An injudicious 2nd marriage when well advanced in age broke him
financially", for last year been charge of county. Survived by 3 sons of 1st
marriage, 2 live in county, 1 in Chicago. Buried Tuesday at Oak Ridge."
